Oh sweet clarity, thank you for finally finding us! Week fourteen has come and questions are being answered. Raiders and Giants fighting tooth and nail for that number one overall pick. Buffalo, Kansas City, Philadelphia and Detroit locking up a playoff spot. Minnesota, Pittsburgh and Green Bay on the verge. And picks, picks are going great! After a spectacular 15 – 1 in week thirteen, I followed up with a 9 – 3 record in Week 14 with Cincinnati the pick for tonight.

In a season where the good teams are really good, the bad teams are really bad and there isn’t much in the middle – matchups are going to mean more in the playoffs than records. I think we are going to see fireworks this year!

I’m seriously disappointed in the Arizona Cardinals today. They’ve played Seattle twice in the last three weeks and have been outplayed in both games. These two teams are built very similarly. The difference, really, has been at the quarterback position. Geno Smith has outplayed Kyler Murray in both games.

The Cardinals are going to have a difficult decision to make at quarterback this offseason. Can they afford to stick with Kyler Murray going forward? They are not going to end up with one of the top draft choices, and this is not a deep draft class at the quarterback position. There are going to be a couple of interesting free agents, but they all come with flaws. This is a team on the way up, but they are being held back by the erratic play of Murray.

On to the rest of this weeks Hits and Misses:

Hit
Buffalo losing. This has got to be a hard one for Bills fans. If they had lost 31 – 17 it would be easy to shrug it off as a bad game. A let down after clinching the division last week. But that’s not what happened. The Bills defense was torched. Josh Allen had a Superman type of game. They still lost. What Stafford was able to do to the Bills secondary is going to be studied by coaches in Kansas City, Pittsburgh and Baltimore. But more importantly, Sean Payton is going to study that film. Buffalo is looking like the second seed, and they’ll likely face Denver in the first round of the playoffs. Between now and then, will Payton be able to get Bo Nix and his receivers on a gameplan like the Rams had on Sunday? Bills fans better be prepared for it.

Miss
Chicago getting an interim coach bump. Yep, missed that one completely. As bad as they had been playing before, how in the world can it be possible to only have 4 yards of total offense in the first half? Just inexcusable. That’s not a coaching issue, that’s execution on the field. This team has talent, but no heart.

Hit
Kirk Cousins. I know, I’m beating a dead horse here. But I feel bad for Falcons fans. The coaching staff is in a bad spot here. They know they need to go to Penix, but what message does that send to the team? Will the players think they are punting the season even though they are only a game out of the playoffs? It’s a rough spot in Atlanta.

Miss
Green Bay and Detroit. I thought both teams would use their power running games to control time of possession and make this a low scoring game. Miss and Miss. I thought Detroit could only win a blowout type of game. Miss. I thought Green Bay would make the play at the end of a close game to win it. Miss. And with any luck we’ll see round three of this game in the playoffs!

Hit
Minnesota. This is a team that is not getting the respect they deserve. They still have a chance at winning the NFC North on the last week of the regular season. Let’s not sleep on a team that has been playing winning football all season long.
